Inky Mojo Monday Card

Hello Again,

I wanted to share this card I made for the Mojo Monday challenge this week.

P1040099

This card was made with a little arty farty and inky bit of fun. There’s nothing like getting your hands all inky and gluey and painted now is there?

This is the sketch this week…
Mojo264Sketch

I started with a mixture of purple inks on the frame from the Everything Eleanor stamp set and stamped it onto glossy white cardstock. Then I stamped a pile of different images onto some plain white tissue paper. I then ripped the tissue paper around the images I wanted on the card and stuck them down with clear glue.

The frame is black card stock that has been cut with two Labels collection framelits and embossed with the Lattice embossing folder.

I used a pile of black ink and sponged messy edges on, they were a bit too dark so I went over them with Shimmer Paint and a brush.

There’s also Bakers Twine of course – because I’m addicted to it, some Dazzling Details glitter and a bit of ribbon and flowers all stacked up too.

Hope you like my card this week and don’t forget to come back and join me next week when my Guest Designer spot starts with Sunny Challenges & Creations.
I would love you to join in with the sketches each week!

Ciao for now…

Snow Flurry Christmas Card

Hi Everyone,
They say there are no mistakes in crafting and ‘they’ are so very right! This card was made using a die cut that was only half cut in error. The Snow Flurry Bigz die was cut out of Whisper White cardstock, only it slipped when I was rolling it through the Big Shot and I only got 3/4’s of the biggest shape cut out!
P1040098
Never mind – I just mounted it onto the edge of the designer paper from the Festival of Prints paper pack, like it was supposed to be that way! The black card stock underneath helps to really make the pattern stand out and some Island Indigo Bakers Twine holds the Jewellery Tag punch, stamped with a merry sentiment from the Tiny Tags stamp set.

It’s been a while since I joined the fun over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, they have a die cuts theme happening this week which is just perfect for this card!
Hope you like it !
Cheers,

Surprise Pop Up Bird Card

Hi Everyone,

I made these two delightful Surprise Pop Up cards using a tutorial on Split Coast Stampers as the basis for the card’s mechanism. However, I substituted the front panel for an  Elegant Bird Die cut from Stampin Up. They are earmarked for a couple of little girls who are Sisters and have birthdays a few days apart at the beginning of November. (yes, they’ve probably guessed it now and I’ve spoiled the surprise!)

Bird Surprise Pop Up 1

They really are surprisingly easy to make once you have the template and as you open the card up, it looks like the bird is almost taking flight! There is room on the tab that pulls out to write your message and an inspirational little quote appears in the window created by pulling the bird upwards.

Bird Surprise Pop up 2      P1040063

Both the girls love pink and purple, but I wanted them both to be a little unique. The Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder gave the birds a lovely texture and I then added the Silver Sparkles to the raised parts to highlight the pattern and give a bit of bling. The Everything Eleanor stamp set has the perfect frame for writing into, as well as a little birdy. Word Play is set used for the window sentiments. Go in the Direction of your Dreams and Wish Big!

Bird Surprise Pop up 4

Here’s a picture of one up and one down. Do you like the torn paper on the right hand bird? I got some black ink on one of my die cuts so I ripped it into pieces and stuck just the un-inked pieces on. It came out looking amazing! All I have to do now is figure out which girl will like which bird better?

I hope you like my birds today, I’ll be sharing them for the challenge at
and at Twist of Faith Challenges where my good friend Trish is a Design Team member, who also happens to have an Animals theme for the challenge.

Speaking of Design Team members, I’ve been offered a Guest Designer position with Sunny Challenges and Creations next month. So keep an eye out here for my take on the sketches next month and don’t forget to come and join me with your entries each week for the month of November. How exciting!

On that note, I’ll be off to get working on my posts !
Have a great day.

Good Luck Triple Time Card

Hello again,

Yes, I’m back so soon… Sunny Challenges and Creations were after a card using the Triple Time technique, which I had learned recently, so I thought – hey, I can have some more fun. This card is made for a friend's daughter who will be on her way to Sydney for the National Cheerleading Championships after her team won the State Championships!

P1040070

I combined the challenge with the Dynamic Duos again this week – their colour challenge always helps me make a decision on colours (otherwise I’d still be fiddling around!) I didn’t end up using the other option – die cuts, because the punches did the job instead!

DD#25

I have used both an old stamp set and a new one – the old one is a retired Sale-A-Bration set called punch bunch and the new one is A Fitting Occasion which has these circular sentiments and lots of little pictures for the centre. The owl was perfect here of course!

P1040071

Hope you like my take on the Triple Time stamping technique.
I look forward to sharing more with you next week.

U Rock My Mojo

Hi Everyone,
It’s Mojo Monday time again and I love this card!

P1040067

The sketch was soooo much fun as I got to use some new items, like the wonderful Paper-Piercing Tool available from Stampin’ Up. It’s on page 181 of the Annual Catalogue is amazing value for money! I used it to pierce around the sentiment in a perfect sized circle and also on the inside and outside of the Curly Label punch. (Which is also new to me – how have I lived without this punch for so long?)
Of course the doily die was inescapable on this sketch..

Mojo263Sketch

As was the little Bitty heart shaped Button that I’ve tied with a bit of Lucky Limeade Bakers Twine.  You may also notice that I used a multitude of Green’s for this card from Old Olive to Certainly Celery with Lucky Limeade in between. It just goes to show that different tones of similar colours can look wonderful together!

P1040069

Hiding in my Craft Room is all about Die cuts this week,
so I thought i'd share my card there too.
The Delicate Doilies Die is lovely after all. (he he the start of an addiction me thinks!)
I hope my card Rocks your world too! Ciao for now…

Bargello Butterfly Thanks Card

Hi Again,

Well the girls at Sunny Challenges and Creations outdid themselves with simplicity this week – thanks be to Gwen Smile It was all too easy, and the results I think are brilliant!

P1040049

Nothing is ever perfect, and my layers here will vouch for that lol! However, when something isn’t perfect we cut and trim and try to make it so – leaving a lovely heap of scrappy strips of beautiful papers which, if you’re anything like me, you can’t bear to throw out.

We now have the solution ladies! The Bargello Technique! Simply take a peice of Multipurpose Adhesive paper and cover a peice of cardstock (make it the size of the feature peice you want to save supplies). Peel back the top to expose the sticky side and start sticking down your strips of patterned paper in geometric type patterns.

P1040050

It makes a wonderful background to the Elegant Butterfly Die and matching stamp set – Papillon Potpourri. The Thanks is from the Kindness Matters set and it’s stamped onto some Certainly Celery cardstock that’s been cut to shape with one of the Lots of Tags Sizzlits. Bakers Twine in Lucky Limeade finishes it off.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope I’m providing you with plenty of inspiration – especially where butterflies are concerned lately! I’m not done yet thought, just wait until you see my Hanging Butterfly Easel card! I did promise it back in September and it’s nearly ready to blog! So keep an eye out in the next couple of days for it, in the meantime – enjoy life!

Thank You Card

Mojo Monday strikes again with a wonderful sketch challenge to accomplish.
Do you like the bakers twine butterfly trails?

P1040046

Here’s the sketch…

Mojo262Sketch

Dynamic Duos also picked a lovely colour combo this week, so I combined the two again!

DD#24

I had a blast making this card, the butterflies were all stamped on glossy paper, either fussy cut or punched out – depending on the size. Then a bit of Dazzling Details in Silver Sparkle – Stampin’ Ups own version of glitter glue which can be found on page 23 of the Holiday Catalogue.

P1040047

The Delicate Doilies Sizzlets have become a fast favourite of mine. Here I used Whisper White cardstock to cut the doily and then rubbed it all over the Pool Part ink pad to give it just the right colour – without wasting my Pool Party coloured cardstock!
Just a little tip for you Smile

That’s it for now with the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and the Elegant Butterfly die. A wonderful combination of tools to make life easy indeed!

Have a great day now.

Retro Elegant Butterflies

Hi Everyone

I’ve been going mad with the Elegant Butterfly punch today
and this is just the first card to show you.

P1040042

How easy is that, a bit of designer paper and a punch with a little bling added.

P1040041

Itty Bitty Banners with the matching Bitty Banners Dies also make a job easier!

This card was made to go with the sketch at Retro Sketches, head on over there yourself to see what everyone else did. Some of them are quite awesome!

Hope you like it and I’ll be back soon with the Mojo Monday – before it’s actually Monday !  I’ve already missed one linky list this week, best not miss another one!

Celebrate Card

Hi Everyone,

Busy time of year for me, but still must keep up with the birthday list!

P1040036

I used the sketch challenge over at Sunny Challenges and Creations again, only I missed the linky list to hook up with the challenge – only just though! Never mind, I’ll let the girls know it’s here and they can take a look anyway.

I did find a challenge called In the Pink which was just perfect
Pink plus One (other colour - white?)

I’m actually quite pleased with how this card turned out. Regal Rose cardstock and Designer Series papers with the lovely new 3.2mm Taffeta Ribbon in the same colour. All offset with white and a bit of Chevron embossing.

P1040037

The champagne glasses full of bubbles just had to be pink too, and I embossed them with a slightly lighter colour – pretty in pink. A few bubbles cut out and the word window punch around the celebrate sentiment from the same stamp set - Embellished Events. Beautiful, Quick and Easy! It's why we love Stampin' Up after all.

Have a great day, I’ll be back sometime over the weekend with some more to share.

Triple Time Card

Hi Everyone,

Well – here it is, my first attempt at creating a card using the Triple Time Stamping technique that has been taking Stampin Up demonstrators by storm! Everywhere I look lately I see this technique and I love it! I think the first example I saw was from the esteemed Mary Fish back in July, (who cased it from Dawn Olchefski who has a tutorial for it HERE)

P1030986

I used the Everything Eleanor stamp set along with the Itty Bitty Banners stamp and matching die with Crumb Cake and Regal Rose colours for cardstock, ink and ribbon for a pretty effect. A bit of a fancy edge with the Scallop Trim Border punch is set off by the pink that is showing through from the inside of the card…

P1030989_thumb

Went a little overboard maybe, but I do like it!
You may notice that my flowers overlay the swirls, but you can’t actually see the swirls through the flowers.

How did I do that you ask? A simple matter of masking. The flowers were stamped and embossed, then masked ( a little paper cut out of the same stamp is very lightly stuck down over the original)  the swirls were then stamped with Crumb Cake ink, the masks removed and Voila! The ink doesn’t touch the flowers under their masks.

Here’s the stamp set, isn’t it gorgeous?

Everything Eleanor

Hope you all have a great week, I’ll be back in a coupe of hours with a new Stampin Up Promotion where you can earn some free ribbon – How exciting, off to write the post now.

In the meantime, enjoy my Triple Time Stamped Card Smile
